Hello fellow users, I am new here and looking for some feedback/thoughts, because I have been wondering about a few things. I have been in a few stable/local/cover bands before, but it always was a hassle to write and record songs with most of them. It never got serious, I am also from a small town here in The Netherlands (which doesn't help finding a lot of good musicians). I want to create and release music of my own & try something different.
I created my 1st online collaboration band to work with musicians from around the world. My project doesn't have any official/constant members, except for me. I compose and record songs, and I work with different vocalists/musicians on those songs. My goal is to work with talented musicians who like my songs and are willing to work on it. The great thing about online collaboration is the fact that I can work with anyone and be flexible, however, the downside is that I can't tour with people around the world...
My first question is; has there ever been such a band/project on a larger scale? If so, I'd love to know which bands/artists achieved (moderate) succes. A one man band with different musicians on each song, etc.

L'avantage de la collaboration en ligne, c'est que je peux travailler avec n'importe qui et être flexible, mais l'inconvénient, c'est que je ne peux pas tourner avec des gens du monde entier...
Ma première question est la suivante : y a-t-il déjà eu un tel groupe/projet à plus grande échelle ? Si oui, j'aimerais savoir quels groupes/artistes ont eu un succès (modéré). Un one man band avec des musiciens différents sur chaque chanson, etc.

Merci à HLJ pour la traduction mais je me demande si un forum prioritairement FRANCOPHONE dédié à la TSF ANCIENNE est le meilleur endroit pour poser ce type de questions. De même pour un autre membre à la recherche (en anglais uniquement) de recommandations pour des sites internet diffusant du Jazz répondant à certains critères. Curieux...

Your chances to get any useful advices here are quite low.
